And finally - a departing shot from the entry hall to St. Peter's. This entire church was built starting in 1506 by Donato Bramante, who designed the entire building, but died before completing it. His work was continued by Raphael, but he too died before it's completion - and then there was Younger who continued the project, until Michaelangelo took over in 1546, he too died before the project was completed, but not before he designed the dome that resides over St. Peter's bones. Carlo Maderno was the last to work on the project and finished it - nearly 100 years after it started.
