Busy little bee...

Hi all,

Sorry it's been so long since I posted my last blog. Things in London have been really busy. I had two wonderful visitors in the month of February - my friend Jenny from Sweden and Jill from home. It was fantastic to share time with them both.

Jill and I took a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland. There we talked, shopped, talked more, went to the Six Nations Rugby game (Scotland vs Italy), talked more, and had fabulous dining. I truly enjoyed our weekend together - it made me realize how much I value our friendship, how much I LOVE the game of rugby (and the men who play it), and how good sticky toffee pudding can be!

A few updates since my last blog entry - I've moved to a new flat near Oxford Circus as I had another break-in at my Picadilly place. Yikes! The new building has 50 flats, and I am on the sixth floor overlooking Hanover square. I have a magnificent sunset view of the city and wonderful trees just outside my window. The new place is significantly smaller than my last flat, but it feels more homey! I actually have neighbors... I am sure they are tired of my music by now and I've only lived here two weeks.

On Saturday, I had friends over for a proper house warming party, a fantastic time had by all, but it might have been the 5 bottles of wine we drank! :-) I am learning to cook new foods and trying recipies. Dinner was wine-soaked pork chops, baked apples, and a potatoe dish that I had in France and eventually talked a waiter into giving me the recipe for. I even went so far as to make homeade chocolate mousse with fresh double cream whipped on top - it was a definite luxury dessert. The best part of the evening was being able to share the night with four other people I consider my first real friends in Europe; Charlotte, James, Jody and Steven.

Also this week, I celebrated my 28th birthday! Yikes - I am old, mom calls me a spinster, which is partially true as some nights I enjoy dinner alone more than I could ever describe. As I have told many friends this week who called with birthday wishes, my year of 27 was full of great leaps of courage, wonder, trial, error, perserverance, joy, thirst, and life! I plan on looking back on 28 with the same satisfied grin...

Off to paint some new canvases for the flat!

Enjoy the pictures of Edinburgh!

Suzy
