It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like...

Hi all,

I cannot believe today is one week from Christmas Eve. It's been a crazy few weeks with mad work, lots of big decisions, and lots and lots of travels. In 14 days, I've been to Dublin and back (three times), flow to New York, then to Chicago, and today, I fly home to Portland. In total, I've spent over 12K miles in an airplane this December, and logged something like 59 hours travelling. I must admit, I am a bit knackered all around, but I have really enjoyed myself.

Tonight, mum and I will be celebrating my homecoming by spending the evening decorating our Christmas tree, building a fire, talking for hours, enjoying each other's company, and finally - drifting off to sleep in my own bed for the first time in over a year. Sounds blissful to think of - especially knowning how many miles/hours/heavy suitcases lie between myself and that bed.

Before I left London, I went for a late night run to capture some of the magic of the Christmas season's. Attached are a few photos from some of my favourite streets - all with their own magical feel. It seems appropriate to post them now, as it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. It feels right to be back home for the holidays...
