A day at the races...

This weekend was the Abbeville Fete... a little street fair in my local village. The fete was based on the theme 'A Day At The Races', and included a silent auction, a mens choir, the local shopkeepers and artists vending on the street, face painting, a dog show (prettiest bitch and owner dog look alike were my two favourite categories!), a fancy dress/hat competition, and a shopkeepers race.

To celebrate the Fete, and the summer solstice, I had friends over for a summer party (it's becomming a habit with the good weather and a bbq). And, because the fete was meant as a special day, we had a silly hat competition. We spent all day wandering around the fair, enjoying the homeade crafts and soaking up the sunshine... and feeling beautiful... here are the pictures.
