Running to Beat Myeloma...

Hi Everyone!

On June 11th, I will be running the Edinburgh marathon. Can you believe it??? It would be surreal for me too, if it weren't for the knarly blisters on my cute little pinky toes ... doh!

Getting serious though - I don't mind the miles. I am 8 weeks and 216 miles into my training programme and actually, I only have one regret thus far - I wish it hadn't taken this reason to get me to run. Last year, my dear friend Julie was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. For those of you who are not familiar with the disease, myeloma is a cancer of the blood, which ultimately leads to tumors which attack a person's bone marrow. Myeloma is an extremely painful disease, and although new treatments are being developed all the time, it is currently incurable.

But, if you know me, and you if you know Julie, where there is a will -- there is always a way!! Hope, faith, and courage are three of the traits I most admire in Julie. She’s always been one of those friends who makes me a better person, because she is selfless, giving, and full of all sorts of goodness. I love her dearly. And, although I cannot be in Seattle to be near her side, I plan to raise a little (or a lot) of money through this run - which can be used for myeloma research, and ultimately toward helping Julie win the battle against this great disease.

I am hoping you will decide to support me. Whether you have USD$, Euro or BPS, a little goes a long way. To make a donation, simply go to the following website:
